Irish Goldendoodle Puppies in Indiana
At Ramsey Creek Kennels in Lexington, Indiana, we raise Irish Goldendoodle puppies. Known for their rich red coats and sweet, people-loving temperaments, they are a beautiful variation on the Goldendoodle.
What Is an Irish Goldendoodle?
An Irish Goldendoodle combines Poodle and retriever lines with Irish Setter, the cross that gives these dogs their deep red coloring. Like other doodles they are bred as companions, and they inherit the Poodle's intelligence along with the retriever's friendly, willing nature.
Size, Coat and Colors
Adult size varies with the Poodle parent, from mini dogs of about 25–45 pounds to standards of about 50–75 pounds. The coat is wavy to curly and water-resistant, in shades of red, apricot and cream, sometimes with white markings. Coats shed lightly, but no dog is completely hypoallergenic.
Grooming
Brush several times a week to keep the coat free of mats and plan on a professional trim every six to eight weeks, along with regular ear cleaning, nail trims and dental care.
Temperament
Irish Goldendoodles are happiest with their people. They are affectionate, eager to please and playful, and they usually get along well with children and other dogs. They love the outdoors and take to water readily.
Training and Exercise
Bright and willing, they respond well to positive, consistent training. Plan on daily exercise: walks, fetch and room to run keep them content, and training games satisfy their quick minds.
